Home Based Businesses And Engine Feathers

Home based businesses are for the newbie, the hardest thing to find. There is so much promise and hype that it can be hard to find some meat amongst so much gristle. I wonder how many ebooks have been bought that stay unrequited on virtual shelves. Maybe it's a rites of passage thing! The good news is that, as always, perseverance prevails. You do find your way.

Successful home based businesses must have your focus and determination and the well trodden path is a good safe start: The basic model of a web site full of interesting comment about something that interests you so that like minded people will come looking is your best start. Put up a few ads that relate to the subject matter and bingo. Sounds easy doesn't it?

It really isn't that difficult to make some money even if you know nothing whatsoever about search engine optimization, copywriting, black hatters and all the other confusing details designed to put newbies off!

Google are getting quite good at detecting honest prose and they like it. If you have piles of stories (content), making lots of pages full of interesting comment and each page makes one small sale a day, I would call that progress.

You do need to know about keywords though. Do not leave this page without an understanding of this: If no one types the right phrase for your story, no one will get to see your hard work because the search engine won't pull it out of the virtual filing cabinet.

Search engines are robots and it is good to remember that. It makes it easier to get to know them. Ask a robot to find information about engines and they will get you a list of petrol engines, deisel engines, electrical engines, search engines, are there any more? (Mojo's aren't engines!) So you need to be more specific for Robo's admirable precision.

Your site that sells feathers from birds of prey would do very well with 'feathers' because there probably aren't too many people selling them (I'm guessing here). What about feather dusters, feather headdresses, feather pens, feather pillows, feather arrow flights, featherhead snakes, the Third Reich and the Featherland. Lots of niches all waiting to be called by eager search engines.

Success or failure lies in keywords and a good understanding of it can save you from a great deal of frustration. If you then find out where to place them on your web pages you would have a grateful Rojo gathering them up and making you one of his favorites on his list. This may be your first call when you're assembling your first home based businesses and this knowledge means potential wealth.
